What the heck are they doing wrong??
Almost across the board, I find that the missing piece lies within their messaging. Specifically, their messaging is too broad, causing them to get lost in the shuffle of the online space because no one resonates with them deeply enough to care...#truthbomb!
When you can narrow your messaging enough that you are speaking to a well-defined category of people (a.k.a. your potential ideal clients), they can really start to HEAR you--rather than skim right over your content when they're scrolling through their news feed.
The most killer messaging will focus on connecting two primary things:
1. P A I N P O I N T S
What is your ideal client struggling with? What keeps him/her up at night stressing out? Where do they not want to be in one year? What are their biggest insecurities/what are they ashamed of?
2. D E S I R E S
What are your ideal client's biggest goals/aspirations? What thoughts do they have in the back of their mind that they are two afraid to admit they deserve? What does their dream life look like one year from today? If money was not a factor, how would they spend their day?
Essentially, your job as a business owner is to communicate to your ideal client that your product or service is the driving force that will take them from living with their pain points to living in alignment with their deepest desires.
Yes, this means in ALL the content you put out into the world, from social media posts, to blog posts, to emails, etc., the foundation of everything you say should be positioning YOU and your product/service as the catalyst that relieves pain points and fulfills desires.
Once you can incorporate this into your messaging, you will be amazed at how much more quickly your audience will be able to know, like, and trust you...eventually enough to want to purchase from you!
