How to stay grounded when you work from home

Hey gorgeous!!

I've been working on my business from home for quite some time now. While I absolutely love the flexibility it provides, I can sometimes go a little stir-crazy being cooped up and isolated all day.

I want to share my best tips for staying grounded and zen when you're working from home so you can keep your stress levels low and still get your best work done.

Who's excited for them?!

My top tips to stay grounded AF when working from home:

1. Dress the Part

Believe it or not, my best work days are never the days I'm in my PJ's until 2pm haha! I really try to make an effort to put cute clothes on, do my hair, and apply a little makeup. Not only does this make me feel more confident, but it helps transition me from 'home mode' to 'work mode.' I know if I'm in my work clothes, it's time to focus and get sh%t done!

2. Make Your Breaks Ritualistic

The more enjoyable and routine your breaks are, the more likely you are to take them (and girl, you NEED to take them!) Have set times and activities that you use every day. For example, every day at noon I make a tea and spend a couple minutes with myself. Then, when I'm working, I can stay more motivated because I know a break is coming.

3. Leave Your House & Get Sunshine

If you find yourself sitting and staring at a computer screen for several hours at a time, you need to get up and get out! Give your eyes a rest, move your body, and soak up some vitamin D outside. You'll breath some fresh air, clear your head, and feel re-energized, refreshed, and full of new inspiration!

4. Set Goals with Tangible Results

Something that can be tough about working from home/being your own boss is that you will sometimes have to do work that doesn't have a direct reward. For example, let's say you write a blog post. You aren't necessarily getting paid for the blog itself, but you might get paid down the line from a client who read the blog post and really connected with you. I like to recommend that every day you have at least one to-do action that will have a more tangible result so you can feel like your work is meaningful, and always moving your forward.

5. Work in a Space that Inspires You

Whether you have a whole office to work with or just a desk, make the space you do your work in appealing and inspiring. Invest in decor for your desk, and place some goodies around your space that can keep your energy high all day. I love to have crystals, essential oils, plants, and sage & palo santo around my desk. I get so excited to do work when I know I'll be in my cute office space!

6. Clock Out & Stay Off

This is another important step to maintain the 'home life' vs. 'work life' boundary and protect your energy. Have a time at the end of the day where you always stop work and stick to it--no checking emails late into the evening gf! You might even have a special routine for winding down after your workday (i.e. a yoga class, dinner, a workout, or a glass of wine.)

While it can seriously be amaaazing to work from home, I definitely have days where I hustle way too much and can't calm down, or am feeling totally uninspired and unmotivated. These tips always bring me back to middle ground, where I'm working hard but also nurturing myself along the way.

Hope these tips were inspiring to you! Which ones are you definitely trying yourself?!

Sending love, beauty!
